Welcome immigrants. Demilitarize the Border. \nSigns are available or bring your own. Maintain social distancing. See our Facebook page for more information. \nHuman Rights activists hold vigil outside the I.C.E. entrance on Minnehaha Ave next to the Fort Snelling Light Rail Station. The regional headquarters for ICE is located in the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building where immigration court is also held. Detainees are transported from around the state and sometimes deported right after the hearing. Signs provided in support of immigration reform: Citizenship for DACA\, Asylum is a Human Right\, Demilitarize the Border\, No Human Being is Illegal\, No More ICE\, etc.

DESCRIPTION:The Vigil to End War is sponsored by the WAMM End War Committee (EWC). \nThe EWC is dedicated to ending U.S. involvement in war\, the threats of war\, and the production\, sale and use of the weapons of war. \nPlease wear a mask and maintain social distance! \nEvery Wednesday at the the Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge \n4:00 pm – 5:00 pm between November 1st and March 31st\n5:00 pm – 6:00 pm between April 1st and October 31st \nSigns provided or bring your own. Check the WAMM calendar and Facebook events pages for special themes for the day! \nSponsored by the End War Committee \nIn 1999\, WAMM’s End War Committee partnered with other local activist groups to initiate a weekly vigil on the Lake Street and Marshal Avenue bridge in St.Paul. Originally in response to the U.S. and NATO bombings in Yugoslavia\, the vigil has continued weekly with different U.S. sanctions\, interventions\, and wars to protest. Every Wednesday for over 20 years—rain\, shine or below zero temps—activists in the Twin Cities have gathered to stand in solidarity with all those affected by U.S. militarism and to call for peace.
