This year we will gather at the World War I Victory Memorial Monument on Victory Memorial Drive.\n\nFor those up for a one-mile walk\, the event begins at 10:00 a.m. We will walk from 33rd & Xerxes Ave N along Victory Memorial Drive to the Memorial at 45th & York Av N.\n\nAt 10:30\, the program will begin at the monument and will include words from president Dave Logsdon and Steve McKeown and music from Native flutist Darren Thompson (who has been nominated for a Native American Music Award). The Bell Ringing will be at 11 a.m.\, (the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month) followed by Darren playing taps.

See our Facebook page for more information. \nHuman Rights activists hold vigil outside the I.C.E. entrance on Minnehaha Ave next to the Fort Snelling Light Rail Station. The regional headquarters for ICE is located in the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building where immigration court is also held. Detainees are transported from around the state and sometimes deported right after the hearing. Signs provided in support of immigration reform: Citizenship for DACA\, Asylum is a Human Right\, Demilitarize the Border\, No Human Being is Illegal\, No More ICE\, etc.

Check the WAMM calendar and Facebook events pages for special themes for the day! \nSponsored by the End War Committee \nIn 1999\, WAMM’s End War Committee partnered with other local activist groups to initiate a weekly vigil on the Lake Street and Marshal Avenue bridge in St.Paul. Originally in response to the U.S. and NATO bombings in Yugoslavia\, the vigil has continued weekly with different U.S. sanctions\, interventions\, and wars to protest. Every Wednesday for over 20 years—rain\, shine or below zero temps—activists in the Twin Cities have gathered to stand in solidarity with all those affected by U.S. militarism and to call for peace.

As Israel’s colonialism and apartheid grows more brutal\, BDS calls for the end of Israeli occupation and the dismantling of Israel’s apartheid wall\, equal rights for Palestinian citizens of Israel\, and to uphold the UN-enshrined right of return for Palestinian refugees.\n\nThe Anti-War Committee is campaigning to get the state of Minnesota to divest from Israel bonds\, which are direct\, unrestricted loans to the Israeli government.
