SUMMARY:September Cuba Car Caravan
DESCRIPTION:September Cuba Car Caravan\n\nEnd the U.S. Blockade of Cuba! (Poner fin al bloqueo estadounidense de Cuba)\nTake Cuba off the U.S. State Sponsors of Terrorism! (Sacar a Cuba de la lista de Estados Patrocinadores del Terrorismo de EE.UU)\n\n\nSunday\, September 24\, 2023\, Gather at 1:00 pm\nGriggs-Midway Building in St. Paul\, MN1821 University Ave W\, St Paul\, MN 55104(gather in the parking lot)\nCar caravan details:\n1:00 pm: Line up and add signs and flags to cars at Griggs-Midway. Signs and car flags will be available or bring your own. Caravan sponsors will make brief remarks.1:30 pm (sharp): Caravan begins – Drive on University Avenue to the State Capital and back then return to Griggs-Midway.\n\nDuring the caravan join us on ZOOM! See QR code.\n2:30: Brief closing rally at Griggs-Midway Building parking lot.Contact 612-437-0222 for more information or if you’re joining late.We join the nationwide monthly caravans first organized by Miami-based Puentes de Amor (Bridges of Love) to show our love  for Cuba. \nThis month we’re focusing on the continuation of Cuba on the list of nations that the U.S. designates as “terrorist” and the recent FBI questioning when people visit Cuba. \n \nCome to hear speakers that have experienced FBI questioning and/or FBI raids. We need to stand up and speak out against any form of U.S. government repression against the people of Cuba and their supporters.\nMore than 10\,000 people and 100 progressive advocacy groups have signed an open letter urging President Joe Biden to end the Trump administration’s terrorism designation for Cuba and to reinstate Obama-era policy for the island. We are still organizing to end the US’ 60+year Blockade on Cuba:The international outcry against the U.S. intentional starvation blockade of Cuba is growing. These actions powerfully refute the claims  by anti-Cuba Senators Marco Rubio\, Robert Menendez and Ted Cruz. Now in their third year\, the public bike and car caravans that started in Miami\, and led by Cuban-Americans\, have broken up that myth.\n \n—————————–\nÚnase a SCOTA\, el Comité Cuba de Minnesota y otros en nuestra caravana mensual contra el bloqueo estadounidense a Cuba.

SUMMARY:The Bombing of Cuban Flight 455 and Why it Matters Today
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, October 5th @ 7 pm @ Blegen Hall\, Rm 155 \n269 19th Ave. S\, West Bank\, U of MN\, Mpls\n\nOn October 6\, 1976\, Cubana Flight 455 took off from Barbados en route to Jamaica. Two explosive devices placed on the airplane detonated\, and the plane was ripped apart and plummeted into the ocean below. Innocent men\, women\, and children lost their lives\, including the entire Cuban Olympic fencing team. A new informative and well-researched documentary\, Cubana 455\, details the ties between the CIA and Cuban exile terrorists. In this extraordinary documentary\, it is clear that the Cuban terrorists have no remorse and consider civilian deaths as only collateral damage in their campaign against Cuba. Join us to learn about this tragic event and to demand that the US State Department remove Cuba from the SSOT (State Sponsors of Terrorism) The presence of Cuba on this list is particularly outrageous because it has been a victim of terrorist acts over the past 60 years\, not a perpetrator of them.  Organized by Minnesota Cuba Committee.\nFacebook.

SUMMARY:Protest: tell McCullom to vote No on Aid to Israel
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, October 25\, 2023 @ 4 p.m.\nGather at intersection of Lasalle and University\, St. Paul\, MN (one block from Rep. McCollum’s office) \nMcCollum\, who represents St. Paul in the U.S. House\, is a co-sponsor of H.Res.771\, titled “Standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and other terrorists.” \nLikewise\, her phony statement on a ceasefire places blame only on Palestinians and doesn’t even call for Israel to immediately stop its genocidal attacks on Gaza. \nIn the past\, McCollum claimed to be an ally of Palestine and sponsored legislation that would have cut U.S. aid to Israel. It’s time to push her back in that direction. Biden wants $14 billions more for Israel as part of his $106 billion proposal to fund wars across the world – join us to tell Betty McCollum to vote NO! \nInitiated by MN Anti-War Committee. Originally in response to the U.S. and NATO bombings in Yugoslavia\, the vigil has continued weekly with different U.S. sanctions\, interventions\, and wars to protest. Every Wednesday for over 20 years—rain\, shine or below zero temps—activists in the Twin Cities have gathered to stand in solidarity with all those affected by U.S. militarism and to call for peace.
