SUMMARY:Vigil to End War
DESCRIPTION:The Vigil to End War is sponsored by the WAMM End War Committee (EWC). \nThe EWC is dedicated to ending U.S. involvement in war\, the threats of war\, and the production\, sale and use of the weapons of war. \nEvery Wednesday at the the Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge \n4:00 pm – 5:00 pm  \nSigns provided or bring your own. Check the WAMM calendar and Facebook events pages for special themes for the day! \nSponsored by the End War Committee \nIn 1999\, WAMM’s End War Committee partnered with other local activist groups to initiate a weekly vigil on the Lake Street and Marshal Avenue bridge in St.Paul. Originally in response to the U.S. and NATO bombings in Yugoslavia\, the vigil has continued weekly with different U.S. sanctions\, interventions\, and wars to protest. Every Wednesday for over 20 years—rain\, shine or below zero temps—activists in the Twin Cities have gathered to stand in solidarity with all those affected by U.S. militarism and to call for peace.

SUMMARY:Kid-Led Protest to Divest! - FAMM
DESCRIPTION:  \nProtest to Divest\, 10:30 am – 12:15 pm\, second Saturday of every month outside the Governor’s residence (1006 Summit Ave\, Saint Paul\, MN)\n\nCalling all kids and former kids! Our call for Minnesota to divest from genocide continues! \nJoin us for our monthly kid-friendly\, kid-led “Protest to Divest!” outside the Minnesota Governor’s Residence. \nKids will learn how to participate in a protest using their own unique voice through chanting\, dancing\, drumming\, sign-making and more. We will have a bullhorn for kids to take turns leading and/or practicing calls and chants! \nWe’ll talk about olive harvest season\, read the book “Hilwa’s Gifts” and help kids and families make the connection between the attacks on Palestinians and their beloved olive trees during the harvest and the ongoing genocide and demand for divestment. \nSQUEAKY CLEAN CHANTS! SQUEAKY CLEAN MOUTHS!\nWe invite the community to help us collect items for our toothbrush and toothpaste drive supporting the vital mutual aid work our friends at Community Aid Network MN continue to do for our community. Bring new\, unopened toothbrushes (individually packaged\, or in small packaged quantities) and toothpaste! Don’t forget the kids! NO SPICY toothpaste for little mouths! Reach out to your neighbors and friends to expand your collection efforts. Bring the fruits of your labor to the protest and we’ll take it from there! \nAbout the discussion(s):\nWe believe that it’s never too early to talk to kids about oppression\, or have difficult conversations about uncomfortable but necessary topics. Our goal is to educate families using age-appropriate language and provide the community with a space to come together to learn\, grow and advocate for the collective liberation of everyone. \nAbout the location:\nThis action will be held on the public sidewalk in front of the publicly-owned Governor’s residence. It is accessible by bus via Route 63 (stop on Grand Ave/Chatsworth) and a .2 mile walk (approximately 4 minutes on foot). There are no public restrooms available.

SUMMARY:WHAT CEASEFIRE? Rally + Bannering Event
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, January 11\, 2026\, 1:00 PM\, Loring Park (intersection of Hennepin Ave & Oak Grove St)\nJoin the Anti-War Committee for our next Palestine solidarity protest! As Trump ramps up ICE attacks on our immigrant communities here in Minneapolis\, Israel has continued its attacks on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank despite the ceasefire agreement reached in October. Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed since then\, and in November the UN Security Council resolution on Gaza was passed\, effectively setting the table for Gaza to be turned into a U.S. colony. We say shame to that! We will continue to demand an end to the occupation\, and an end to the genocide. We will not stop until Palestine is free! \nFrom Minneapolis to Palestine\, End State Terror! \n: Sunday January 11\n: 1PM\n: Loring Park (Intersection of Hennepin Ave and Oak Grove St.)\nOrganized by AWC\, sponsored by WAMM

SUMMARY:Iran: The Great Game Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, January 12\, 2026\, 7 PM\, 4200 Cedar Ave S\, Minneapolis \nWAMM Monday Movie\nJanuary 12\, 2026 7pm\n4200 Cedar Ave Minneapolis – Entrance on 42nd street \nIran: The Great Game\, is a personal\, eye-opening journey across Iran and through Persia’s history\, seeking ways to heal US – Iran tensions. Featuring Alistair Crooke\, Pepe Escobar\, Dr. Mohammad Larajani\, Professor Seyed Marandi\, Jeffrey Sachs and Oliver Stone …. Director Igor Lopatonok…uses the January 2020 downing of Flight PS752 as a harrowing lens through which to examine over a century of foreign intervention\, regime change and war in Iran. From the shadows of the 1953 CIA/MI6 orchestrated coup that toppled Iran’s democratic government and reinstalled the Shah – to the 1979 revolution that finally overthrew the US-backed monarch\, the film unearths history that mainstream narratives have long obscured.\nProducer/Director: Igor Lopatonok / 2025 / 1hour\, 54 minutes \nSponsored by the WAMM Middle East Committee. Organized by the WAMM Movie Committee

SUMMARY:Rescheduled Water Commission Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, January 13\, 2026\, 12 PM (11:45 AM if possible)\, St Paul City Hall\, 15 W Kellogg Blvd\, St Paul\nThe St. Paul Board of Water Commissioners has canceled its upcoming meeting— without disclosing a reason. \nOur campaign to Cut the Waterfall Contract has been building momentum\, and we KNOW that the Board is feeling the pressure! Minnesotans are learning that their water supply is overseen by an Israeli cybersecurity company\, and they are not willing to be complicit in Israel’s ongoing genocidal war crimes against the Palestinian people. \nIt is possible that the Board thinks that it can evade public scrutiny by canceling its December meeting. If that is the case\, it’s our job to prove that the only way for the Board to relieve public pressure is to CUT THE CONTRACT WITH WATERFALL! \nThat’s why we ask you to help us build the momentum further and PACK THE ROOM at St. Paul’s City Hall Tuesday\, January 13th\, 12:00pm (arrive at 11:45am if possible)! Organized by WAMM Palestine Solidarity Committee \n

SUMMARY:NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION JAN 14! FIGHT POLITICAL REPRESSION! DEFEND PALESTINE! DROP THE CHARGES!
DESCRIPTION:Join with the Anti War Action Network and the Committee to Stop FBI Repression to defend the right to protest for Palestine. We call on all our supporters to call or email the prosecutors in this case on January 14th to pressure for these outrageous charges to be dropped! On May 27\, 2025\,  Leah Grady and Conor Cauley\, two organizers with the Jacksonville Palestine Solidarity Network (JPSN) and a third community member\, Dragon Belloit\, were brutalized and arrested after the Jacksonville City Council singled out Leah for removal for the simple act of clapping. While filming Leah’s arrest\, Conor was grabbed by the neck by Officer Maykael Aliaga Ruiz and flipped over a row of benches. Dragon was arrested as well as simply a bystander. Leah and Dragon face misdemeanor charges of “resisting without violence.” Conor\, who was most visibly brutalized\, is being charged with two felonies of “battery on a law enforcement officer” and “resisting with violence.” Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit State Attorney Melissa Nelson\, who is presenting these charges\, is trying to make an example of JPSN’s organizers to crush anti-war action in Florida\, and set a precedent across the rest of the country. These trumped up charges represent a clear attack on the Palestinian movement and we must fight back! \nJanuary 21st will be Conor Cauley’s final pretrial hearing. We call on all supporters to take action on January 14\, the week prior to this hearing to demand:\n– State Attorney of Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit\, Melissa Nelson\, drops ALL charges on Conor Cauley\, Leah Grady\, and Dragon Belloit.\n– The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office fire Officers Maykel Aliaga-Ruiz and Donovan Davis.\n– The Jacksonville City Council and Mayor Deegan end the political repression of the Palestinian movement here in Jacksonville and our broader community. Please call or email on January 14th State Attorney Melissa Nelson’s & Prosecutor Kelli Lynn Shobe:  (904) 255-2500. SAO4th@coj.net. kshobe@coj.net \nSAMPLE SCRIPT:Hello\,My name is [FIRST & LAST] and I am a resident of [CITY\, STATE]. I am writing to urge that the charges pressed on Conor Cauley\, Leah Grady and Dragon Belloit are immediately dropped and that the arresting officers\, Maykael Aliaga-Ruiz and Donovan Davis\, are held accountable for their actions on May 27th\, 2025.On that day during a City Council meeting three community members\, two of which are in the Jacksonville Palestine Solidarity Network\, were arrested and brutalized by JSO officers for speaking out for Palestine\, like many other activists across this country. After surviving police violence\, spending a day in jail and losing sources of income due to biased media coverage\, the state attorney Melissa Nelson’s office not only continues to pursue trumped up charges but to escalate the charges filed on Conor in retaliation for rejecting the state’s meager plea deal\, despite there being clear video evidence of every one of these charges being false. While the same video clearly shows Conor being forcefully grabbed by the neck and flipped over a row of benches by Officer Maykael Aliaga-Ruiz\, what is less obvious is the damage done to Leah’s wrist as officer Donovan Davis handcuffed her with more force than necessary. Regarding Dragon\, it seems that officers targeted them for simply being a concerned bystander. This is why I join alongside the Jacksonville Palestine Solidarity Network (JPSN) and the wider community in Jacksonville to demand the following: \n\nState Attorney Melissa Nelson and assigned prosecutors must drop all charges filed against Leah Grady\, Conor Cauley and Dragon Belloit.\nSheriff T.K. Waters must fire both arresting officers Donovan Davis and Maykel Aliaga-Ruiz\, who brutalized Leah Grady and Conor Cauley respectively.\nThe City Council takes a pledge to stop ignoring their constituents. Rescind Ordinance 2024-0871-E which is being used to arbitrarily silence and brutalize our community.

We say “Free President Maduro” and “No War On Venezuela”! \nJoin us and organize a protest in your city on January 16th demanding U.S. Hands Off Venezuela! SUMMARY:Earth’s Greatest Enemy Film Screening + Director Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, January 27\, 6:30 – 10 PM\, The Main Theater\, 115 SE Main St\, Mpls \n“Earth’s Greatest Enemy” is going to be shown at the Main Cinema on January 27 at 7pm with director Abby Martin present for Q and A.\n\nTickets available through Event Brite.\n\n\n\nJoin Abby Martin for the Minneapolis premiere of her new documentary film on the environmental impact of the US military!\n\n\n\nEarth’s Greatest Enemy is the second documentary from journalist Abby Martin that uncovers a shocking blind spot in the climate conversation: the U.S. military. \nExempt from international climate agreements and rarely scrutinized in mainstream reporting\, the Pentagon is revealed here as the world’s single largest institutional polluter—spewing carbon\, contaminating water\, and scarring landscapes across the globe. Combining investigative journalism\, striking visuals\, and stories from impacted communities\, the film challenges audiences to rethink the hidden costs of a global military empire and its planetary consequences. Provocative\, urgent\, and eye-opening\, this is a documentary that will change how you see both the military and environmentalism. \nFeaturing Q&A with Abby Martin following the film. \nLearn more about the film and watch the trailer at EarthsGreatestEnemy.com
