701 N 3rd St in Minneapolis 55401
On Friday 20 July 1934, Minneapolis Police ambushed members and supporters of Teamsters Local 574, who were on strike for better pay and working conditions. The police shot 67, mostly in the back, killing Henry Ness and John Belor. This event became known as Bloody Friday and the strike established Minneapolis as a union town.
We will commemorate Bloody Friday by laying a wreath at the sight of the shootings. There will be several short speeches and some songs about the strike. Please join us in commemorating this historic event and paying homage to those who fought and died in the struggle for a better future for workers.
