Barry Riesch begins discussion on Vets for Peace and the Flotilla at 53:30
CONTEXT: Coleen Rowley of Apple Valley, who is a member of @wamm_mn Women Against Military Madness, and Barry Riesch of St. Paul, who is a member of @veteransforpeace, (bios below) are scheduled to leave the Twin Cities on Wednesday, April 17 to travel to the Mediterranean to join the International Freedom Flotilla this spring. This civilian aid mission will set sail in late April bringing life-saving aid to the people of Gaza to challenge Israel’s unlawful and murderous siege.
The flotilla consists of multiple ships carrying over 5,500 tons of urgently needed food and medicine for the Palestinian people who are being deliberately starved and experiencing disease and death. Rowley and Riesch will be among several hundred participants on this non-violent mission. With multiple aid groups suspending their operations in Gaza after Israel’s latest murder of aid workers, the flotilla’s mission is more critical than ever.
You can find information on the Freedom Flotilla Coalition at: https://freedomflotilla.org/
If you want to help out please call your Senators and Congress members and ask them to demand that Israel respect international law and allow the flotilla to enter Gaza to distribute aid without delay, disruption or harm, and protect their rights, security, and safety during this humanitarian aid mission.
