DESCRIPTION:Northside Juneteenth Community Skate Party 2023!\nFriday\, June 16\, 2023\, 3:00-6:00 pm\nCapri Theater\, 2027 W Broadway in Minneapolis \nWAMM will have a table at this fun community event.\n\nAs we celebrate our community\, our history\, our culture and our roots we will gather on Friday\, June 16th to celebrate Juneteenth 2023 as a part of our Northside Juneteenth Weekend!\n\nJuneteenth commemorates the date in 1865 when news of the emancipation of African American slaves reached Galveston\, Texas.\n\nThe official name of federal holiday is Juneteenth National Independence Day\, also called Emancipation Day\, Freedom Day\, Jubilee Day\, Black Independence Day\, and Juneteenth Independence Day.\n\nThis year is the FIRST YEAR that Juneteenth is a State Holiday in the State of Minnesota thanks to State Senator Bobby Joe Champion\, MN House of Representative’s Rep\, Representative Ruth Richardson.\n\nWe will have a host of activities including a Music from a Live DJ\, Family & Kid’s Zone Area\, Black Business Marketplace Area\, Face Painting\, Games\, Giveaway’s & More!\n\nThis event is FREE & open to ALL as we celebrate our freedom\, our community and our heritage.\n\nFFI: NorthsideJuneteenth@gmail.com\n\n\n	Related
