Palestine, Cuba, and the Fight Against US Imperialism

Join SCOTA for a panel discussion on the liberation struggles of the Palestinian people and the Cuban people, the role that U.S. imperialism has played and continues to play in both cases, and the importance of international solidarity with Palestine and Cuba.

🕛 Friday, May 3, 6:00pm
📍 4200 Cedar, Minneapolis

Cuba has been suffering under a U.S. blockade and economic warfare since 1962, which has served only to impoverish the island and stunt the development of its productive forces, cutting off medical aid, food, and crucial building supplies and technology from reaching the Cuban people — a state of siege similar to the siege of Gaza.

Despite this, and other attempts at destabilization and invasion, the Cuban people have resisted and remained committed to their liberation and liberation across the globe, including long-time, unwavering support for the cause of Palestinian liberation.

Panel speakers include:

Mariam El-Khatib, American Muslims for Palestine – MN
Robyn Harbison, Women Against Military Madness / MN Abortion Action Committee
Marcy Shapiro, Solidarity Committee on the Americas
Simon Elliott (moderator), Party for Socialism & Liberation
