“Nakba:” in Arabic, “ “the catastrophe.” Between the passing of the United Nations partition plan in 1947 and the end of the war in 1949, at least 700,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes and homeland. Unknown numbers were killed by Zionist militia and the new Israeli army. Rev. Dr. Isaac will explain how the Nakba is an ongoing reality for the Palestinians. Seventy- five years after the establishment of Israel, the Nakba continues to impact all aspects of Palestinian society, including the shrinking Christian minority.
Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac is Pastor of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, and is also the Academic Dean of Bethlehem Bible College. He lives in Bethlehem with his family.
